Frequently Asked Questions
When should my student take the test and start tutoring?
The ideal time for students to begin SAT or ACT tutoring is the summer before their junior year. Most students aim to take their first test by the spring of junior year, allowing plenty of time to identify areas for improvement and schedule retakes if needed. Starting early helps reduce stress and gives students the best chance to reach their target scores before college applications are due.
Where are you located?
I am located in the Dilworth area and will gladly travel anywhere in the greater Charlotte area. I do charge a travel fee for any students that would like to meet for tutoring outside of a 15 mile radius.
What if I need to cancel a session?
I kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or reschedule a session. Cancellations or changes made with less than 24 hours’ notice—or no-shows—will be charged at the regular hourly rate, unless due to a health or family emergency.

I know that life can be unpredictable, so I offer one no-penalty missed session per student. Think of it as a built-in bit of grace for those rare, unavoidable situations.

I do my best to be flexible and appreciate your help in respecting my time and planning.
What if my student's score does not improve after tutoring sessions?
Every student learns differently, and sometimes progress takes time. That said, I’ll work closely with you to adjust our approach as needed. If your student doesn’t show measurable growth, I’ll continue working with them—free of charge—until we see real results. Please note that this offer is only applicable when the student completes all assigned homework (including online assignments) and fulfills the full number of tutoring hours.
